The Spanish town of Rojales

Rojales town is a typical mediterranean village just 25km approx from Alicante. There are a variety of shops, restaurants tapas bars, cafes, banks and pubs including, English & Irish pub a multitude of small shops and three large supermarkets. In the town centre there is a picturesque church, a local museum and a lovely village square perfect for relaxing. The river Segura runs through the centre of Rojales, this a lovely place to while away a few hours in the evening and where many of the locals spend their spare time with the family. There is a road of very lively discos in Rojales near the Los Palacios end.

The town comes alive on Thursday mornings with the market being held along from the river Segura in the town centre. People come from far and wide to get their fresh vegetables and the many bargains that are to be had there.




Rojales has fully equipped sports facilities including football, volleyball, sailing, tennis, surfing, swimming, basketball, as well as having an excelling golf course of 18 holes. There is a waterpark on the lovely Ciudad Quesada Housing Estate, consisting of restuarants, bars, fast foods and much more to while away a fantastic day. At the south of the town, located in the sides of several hills, dating back to the 19th century are the cave dwellings. They have extensive handicrafts markets, courses, fairs and exhibitions. There is also a local natural park, museum and much more to explore.

Rojales holds its most important festival on 29th June in honor of the patron saint Peter, and are amazing occasions to take part in. Other festivals take place in mid-May and beginning of October.

Benijofar

Benijofar is approx 15 minutes stroll (5 minutes by car) away over the bridge which has English style restaurants, café bars, children’s games rooms, pool, karaoke bars Indian, Mexican,steak,Chinese restaurants, restaurants/ bars do have entertainment, in the form of singers, quizzes, dancing. Most bars have sky and show all the sporting events.

Guadamar

GUADAMAR (approx 7km) Is a lively, but not too tourist orientated town, where there is miles of fantastic beach with a blue flag for safety & cleanliness, where there are nets to play volley ball, and climbing frame nets to keep the children busy while you top up the tan. Lifeguards are in attendance on the beach every day. There is a large leisure centre with outdoor and indoor swimming pools , football courts, tennis courts and other leisure activities available just at the bottom end of the beach. There is also a marina in Guadamar where you can indulge yourself in all kinds of water sports, and fantastic walks through the parks and shopping is a must. If you fancy some fresh air to your body there is also a large nudist beach. Guadamar is one of the preferred places that the Spanish, living inland, visit for their summer holidays. A fantastic choice of beach restaurants, offering fish, steaks, cocktails. A evening market sets up by the side of the beach around 6ish along with a children’s funfair. Both run on until the ealry hours of the morning. There is also a large park, which as café, animals and a log effect park area for the kids.

Torrevieja

Located approx. 15 minutes by car Torrevieja is a main tourist point, with many restuarants, bars, shops, markets and miles of beach to soak up the sun. There is plenty to do for all, in this magnificent resort. A must for a full day out!
